Carol Rose is taking on a Vice President role at STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America. Her promotion follows nearly 30 years of firm service in rail vehicle procurement and engineering programs.

Rose will now lead the vehicle team’s projects and pursuits with some of its largest clients, according to STV.

Since joining the firm in 1996, she has worked in close partnership with such agencies as Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDMTA), Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), and New York MTA’s Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road.

Currently, Rose is serving as Railcar Project Manager for the MDMTA Baltimore Metro subway and train control replacement project; Project Manager for the specification development of the CTDOT’s new single level railcar procurement; and Project Manager for Metro-North Railroad’s single-level coach procurement. She is also managing several assignments with SEPTA under a vehicle engineering services contract, including the specification development for the Silverliner VI commuter electrical multiple unit cars and several task orders for the new multi-level coaches, according to STV.

Rose is also President of the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia and previously served as Chair of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Northeast Region Council and President of the WTS Philadelphia Chapter, where she launched a professional mentoring program for the Philadelphia, Pa., region.

“Carol has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, having started as an Electrical Test Engineer and growing into both project management and supervisory roles,” said James Martin, Senior Vice President and Head of the vehicles group at STV. “We are proud of how Carol has grown her career at STV, as well as her long-standing rapport with many of our key clients.”
