Former MTA Capital Construction head leads NYU Innovations Hub

Hoping to improve safety and efficiency in the construction industry, New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering has created the Institute of Design and Construction (IDC) Innovations Hub and selected railroad construction veteran Dr. Michael Horodniceanu as Chairman.

Hakim returning to her MTA roots

New Jersey Transit Executive Director Veronique “Ronnie” Hakim will be returning to the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority after only 18 months leading NJT. She will become President of MTA New York City Transit on Dec. 28, replacing MTA Bridges and Tunnels President James Ferrara, who has been serving as NYCT Interim President since the August 2015 retirement of Carmen Bianco.

WSP-Parsons Brinckerhoff taps Hamm for Second Avenue Subway

Delano Hamm has been named a supervising technical specialist in the New York City office of WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff, with responsibility for overseeing and expediting changes to construction contracts on the Second Avenue Subway project on behalf of MTA Capital Construction.

MTA: Fulton St. Center to open Nov. 10

New York’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority said Monday, Oct. 27, 2014 that its new Fulton Street Transit Center, serving 11 subway lines and related facilities in lower Manhattan, will open to the public on Nov. 10 at 5:00 a.m.

Fulton Transportation Center recognized in Brunel Awards

New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority Capital Construction has received a Brunel Commendation for the Fulton Transportation Center. This was the only U.S. recognition out of 92 entries received from 14 countries for the 12th Brunel Awards competition for excellence in architectural and design achievements in the railway field.
