The North Carolina Technology Association (NC TECH) recently presented TransmetriQ, a Railinc® brand that provides rail management software, with an award “for advancing technology in the supply chain.”

TransmetriQ received its award at NC TECH’s Awards gala, which was held Nov. 1 to recognize companies and individuals who are said to “represent the best and brightest in technology and business in North Carolina.” The association presented 23 Technology Corporate Awards “for innovation, excellence and growth”; six Use of Technology Awards to companies, organizations, institutions and/or collaborations; and eight Individual Awards. There were 10 NC TECH leaders on the awards selection committee (scroll down to download list).

TransmetriQ was chosen for a Use of Technology Award in the Manufacturing + Supply Chain category, which recognizes companies “for developing an innovative product or solution to drive automation, improve the supply chain, and accelerate product delivery.” According to Railinc, the TransmetriQ nomination cited the release of its Rail Management System—providing shippers with real-time visibility, electronic bill of lading capabilities and analytics all in one platform—and the team’s support of customers “in increasing fleet visibility and leveraging their data.”

Use of Technology Awards were also given in five additional categories: AI + Data Analytics, Cyber Security, Digital Transformation, Government, and Tech for Good.

“North Carolina has been our home for 25 years, and we’re proud members of NC TECH,” said Allen West, President and CEO of Railinc, which was formed in 1999 as a wholly-owned, for-profit subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads. “We’re thrilled to be recognized as a technology and supply chain innovator in the state. Our Rail Management System is a result of deep rail and technical expertise. The supply chain industry is under constant pressure to improve margins and efficiency. Our Rail Management System’s enhanced visibility and AI-generated predictive analytics make these goals achievable.”

In related news, TransmetriQ in September added Program Maintenance and Shop Locator functionalities to its Asset Manager, and in August announced the launch of Reporting & Analytics, described as “a new comprehensive [railcar] fleet reporting tool that synthesizes asset location, health and repair data to provide deeper fleet insights.”
