Supply Side: Ballard, Rail Vision

Ballard Power Systems (Ballard) receives an order of additional fuel cell engines from Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC). Also, Rail Vision ltd. (Rail Vision) reveals its next-generation AI (Artificial Intelligence) computer for railway safety and accident prevention and is granted a patent approval from the Indian Patent Office.

Ballard Power Systems and Chart Industries, Inc. reported successfully testing a fuel cell powered by liquid hydrogen. In addition, RELAM, Inc. opened a new maintenance-of-way equipment rental facility near Sacramento, Calif.

CP on Jan. 24 shared via Twitter: "The project team is now preparing for field-testing with the H2OEL [pictured]. This is a significant milestone for CP’s Hydrogen Locomotive Program."

Canadian Pacific (CP) on Jan. 24 shared via Twitter a video of its fully painted hydrogen fuel cell-powered linehaul freight locomotive (H20EL), which the railroad said has run under its own power.
