PS Technology (PST), a wholly owned subsidiary of Union Pacific Corp., on Monday announced it has acquired the Yard Control Systems division of Ansaldo STS USA.
Ansaldo STS said Wednesday that as part of its ongoing re-organization, it had named Thomas P. Lawton president and CEO of Ansaldo STS USA, succeeding Dr. Alan E. Calegari.
Thomas P. Lawton has been named President and CEO of Ansaldo STS, succeeding Dr. Alan E. Calegari, who will be leaving Ansaldo. Lawton is a long-time member of the ASTS USA executive management team, having served as General Counsel since 2001.
Ansaldo STS USA said Monday it has signed an $11.8 million contract with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to replace an existing interlocking at the authority’s Silver Spring, Md., station. The interlocking upgrade is the first step by WMATA to refurbish its existing system with a seamless transfer, hot standby MicroLok® II interlocking controller.
