TrucBrush safely clears snow from vehicle rooftops

Caterpillar is offering TrucBrush, a patented attachment for clearing snow from the rooftops of trailers, containers and other vehicles.

Available through Caterpillar’s dealer network, the polypropylene-bristled attachment quickly connects to and is powered by a front-end loader. The mobile method allows snow service vendors and fleet maintenance personnel to quickly, effectively and safely clear snow off multi-heighted vehicles prior to transit.

The device is manufactured by TrucBrush Corporation, which serves snow service contractors.

The company said TrucBrush originated as a response to a request by an airfreight company to find a way to manage the largest snow-related problem in the transportation industry. “[The company] was seeking a solution that was safer than the manual method and did not require significant infrastructure and year-round dedicated facility space to effectively remove snow from the tops of the company’s trucks and trailers,” said Jim Burns, TrucBrush inventor and president of TrucBrush Corp.

TrucBrush is manufactured in the United States and sold throughout North America.
