NCFO President Dean Devita will retire on Dec. 31, 2023.

STV appoints Gabrielle Yates to Vice President of Project Accounting and Billing Operations. Also, Dean Devita, President of the National Conference of Firemen and Oilers (NCFO), announces his retirement.

STV on Oct. 30 announced that Gabrielle Yates has joined the firm as Vice President of Project Accounting and Billing Operations. In this role, Yates will lead the project accounting and billing teams, manage billing systems and direct process improvements at the firm.

Yates holds 20 years of industry experience, previously serving as a Senior Director for the U.S. region of a global AEC firm. She completed the WTS Mid-Career Leadership Program in 2015 and recently completed the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Training Course.

“Gabbi is passionate about process improvement and implementation,” said STV CFO Thomas Butcher. “Her track record of success in project accounting strategy and development will be a tremendous asset for us as we reimagine how we work in support of our Strategic Plan.”

NCFO

NCFO President Dean Devita announced on Oct. 19 that he is retiring, effective Dec. 31, 2023.

Devita, who has been a member of NCFO for more than 35 years, became President on Oct. 1, 2020, and was one of the featured speakers at the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen’s (BLET) 150th anniversary celebration in Detroit in 2013.

On Oct. 9, 2023, the NCFO Executive Board voted to merge the Secretary-Treasurer position with the President’s position. The NCFO Executive Board voted Michael Pistone to fill the remainder of the current three-year term.

“I am extremely confident that President Elect Pistone and his team will move forward our union to protect our members for decades to come. I want to thank the NCFO members for allowing me to lead this great union. It is a great union, only because the NCFO has great members who make it a great union. God Bless the NCFO and God Bless the Labor Movement,” wrote Devita in a letter to NCFO members.
