The League of Railway Women (LRW) is now offering a Mentorship Program for members to share industry knowledge; leadership, networking, presentation and communication skills; problem-solving practices; and collaboration and innovation tactics; among other strategies.

After a piloting the program in 2021, LRW has now invested in the MentorCity platform, allowing participants to create personal profiles used to match mentors with mentees and to schedule one-on-one mentoring sessions.

According to LRW, members can sign up online as a mentor or mentee and are encouraged to commit six months to participate. Mentor volunteers require a minimum of ten years of rail industry experience. Space is limited and introductory training sessions on the MentorCity platform will be scheduled soon, LRW reported Sept. 7.

For more details, LRW members can contact Maggie Vuono, LRW Mentorship Chair at [email protected].

Join Vuono at the Railway Age / RT&S Women in Rail 2023 conference, to be held Nov. 2 at the Union League Club of Chicago, where she will co-moderate a panel on Mentorship. And don’t forget to nominate a deserving woman leader for the 2023 Railway Age Women in Rail awards; nominations are due Sept. 29.
