BNSF Logistics has selected Blume Global as its digital supply chain platform, providing solutions to assist BNSF in optimizing the intermodal transport services it offers to customers worldwide.

BNSF Logistics said Blume’s technology and globally connected network will catalize its digital transformation and global expansion. Based in Pleasanton, Calif. Blume’s solutions extend to asset management, logistics execution, real-time visibility and financial settlement.

Headquartered in Flower Mound, Texas, BNSF said the partnership will tightly integrate its distributed supply chain, collecting and analyzing data to optimize every touchpoint between BNSF Logistics, its logistics providers and its customers. This data-driven approach will include end-to-end last-mile global visibility for cargo and containers, across every mode and provider.

BNSF Logistics, a subsidiary of Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC, also will use Blume’s supply chain finance solutions, Blume Finance, to streamline the freight audit and pay process across its network of suppliers while extending Blume’s global network of more than 4,200 motor carriers to its customers.

Blume Global is a critical digital supply chain platform that will allow us to deliver an exceptional logistics experience to our customers while driving aggressive global expansion goals,” said Dan Curtis, president, BNSF Logistics. “For our customers, Blume’s capabilities enhance our ability to manage our customers’ complex supply chains. This addition will help take us to the next level, arming us with critical real-time information and powerful, data-driven capabilities to measure and optimize our entire process while maximizing efficiency, as well as leveraging Blume’s comprehensive network of motor carriers.”

As a non-asset intermediary or third-party logistics provider (3PL), BNSF Logistics connects customers with a broad range of options to move cargo including truckload, project cargo, ocean, rail and rail transload, air, less-than-truckload and intermodal solutions.

“BNSF Logistics has moved cargo across the country and around the world for years. As they continue to extend their capabilities into new markets, geographies and modes, Blume Global is dedicated to helping BNSF Logistics deliver excellent, consistent logistics experiences for its customers,” said Pervinder Johar, chief executive, Blume Global. “Blume’s capabilities will power BNSF Logistics’ data-driven approach to integrate, measure and ultimately optimize every interaction within its customers’ supply chains.”
