CSX, NS, UP Ranked as Best Companies for Women

CSX, Norfolk Southern (NS) and Union Pacific (UP) were among the more than 270 companies named as best places to work in 2022 by the Women’s Choice Award.

Since 2010, the Women’s Choice Award—founded by Delia Passi, CEO of WomenCertified and former Publisher of Working Mother magazine—has selected companies based on female representation in the workforce, work-life balance benefits, professional development and support networks, paid and family time off, health and wellness benefits, employee recognition, and financial benefits.

“Our objective is to identify companies that best meet the general needs of all working women, regardless of age, race or family status,” according to the Women’s Choice Award. Sources include Best Places to Work; Fairygodboss; Women on Boards; Paid Leave for the US; Where Women Work; Extraordinary Women on Boards; LinkedIn; company websites and annual reports; press releases; and employee review sites, such as Glassdoor and Indeed. Companies may also submit applications. 

CSX, NS and UP were also recognized as best companies for diversity by the Women’s Choice Award; CSX and UP were ranked as best companies for millennials, as well.

Among other companies in the transportation category that earned best companies for women recognition in 2022 were American Airlines Group, C.H.
