Wabtec Expanding M/W Business

Wabtec Corporation on Nov. 17 reported the addition of Brazil-based Super Metal to its maintenance-of-way (m/w) business. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Wabtec has acquired Collins Aerospace’s ARINC rail solutions business segment. This follows Wabtec’s three recent acquisitions: Trimble’s Beena Vision wayside inspection system business; New Delhi, India-based MASU’s railway friction business; and Greenbriar Equity Group LP’s Nordco unit. Wabtec Acquires ARINC Rail Solutions

Wabtec Corporation on June 16 reported its acquisition of Collins Aerospace’s ARINC rail solutions business segment, a rail dispatch and back-office system provider. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Supply Side: Capitol Corridor, Metro Transit, VIA Rail Canada Improving Rider Services

Northern California’s Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) expects to complete its next-generation Wi-Fi upgrade project by early December to improve the rider experience. Minneapolis-Saint Paul Metro Transit awarded two communications contracts to Collins Aerospace Systems for its $2.003 billion Southwest LRT project, which will expand Green Line service. As well, VIA Rail Canada is working with IT and business consulting services firm CGI on a reservation modernization project to better serve customers.

NJT Awards ARINC Contract for Control, Data Upgrades

NJ Transit (NJT) has awarded the ARINC rail solutions team at Collins Aerospace Systems a three-year contract to replace its Train Management and Control (TMAC) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems.
