HNTB: May promoted; Jenkins tabbed as PD, AVP

HNTB Corp. recently announced a pair of moves—first with Greg May, P.E., LEED A.P., assuming the role of Pennsylvania Office Leader.

An HNTB employee since November 2018, May, also Vice President, has more than 20 years of client service, leadership, operations management and technical experience in planning, design, and program and construction management for transportation infrastructure across the country.

As Pennsylvania Office Leader, his role includes “responsibility for delivering technical excellence and innovative solutions that improve regional mobility, grow a talented and diverse workforce, and develop industry leaders.”

HNTB noted that May leads more than 160 multidisciplinary transportation professionals in Philadelphia, King of Prussia, Allentown, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. The team “delivers highway, bridge, toll, transit, rail and aviation projects, program and construction management and other services to clients across the region.”

May’s a member of several professional industry associations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Public Transportation Association, the Project Management Institute and others. In 2017, Mass Transit magazine named him one of its Top 40 Under 40.

May has served in progressively responsible leadership positions in the transportation industry throughout his career. Previously, he served as HNTB Program Manager, leading planning, design and program management of major projects, such as SEPTA’s $1.2B King of Prussia rail extension project.

A Pennsylvania native, May earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of New Haven. He also studied mechanical engineering at Villanova University and the University of Pittsburgh.

In addition, HNTB revealed that Christopher Jenkins has joined the team as a Project Director and Associate Vice President in the program and construction management practice, based in the firm’s Empire State Building offices in New York City.

Throughout his 32-year career, Jenkins has “contributed to many significant high-profile projects across the nation, including New York City’s Goethals Bridge and World Trade Center, the Boston Big Dig and major highway projects in Austin, Texas and Orange County, Calif., among others.”

A graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology, Jenkins holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology and is a member of the Design Build Institute of America.
