Duos Technologies appoints rail veteran David McKee to its newly formed Industry Advisory Group. Also, Transdev names Ben Frimpong Deputy General Counsel, Labor and Employment.
At Duos Technologies, Inc., David McKee is joining the Industry Advisory Group, whose aim is “to provide consultation on certain areas requiring specialist industry, technical or financial knowledge to assist senior management in strategic planning,” the company reported. He will be focused on the rollout of railcar inspection portals.
With nearly 40 years of rail industry experience, McKee spent most of his career in various leadership roles at CSX. He served most recently as Vice President of Rail Logistics for Oldcastle’s Class III railroad operation, where he was responsible for managing safety, train operations, fleet productivity goals and regulatory compliance.
McKee is the first member of the Industry Advisory Group, which Duos said will be “a key resource for the company as it expands its offerings to private railcar owners, lessors and shippers via inspection data subscription plans.”
“We sought out David deliberately as the first addition to our Advisory Group because of his proficiency in rail operations project management at all levels as well as his deep industry relationships built over a four-decade career,” Duos CEO Chuck Ferry said. “As we continue to grow and expand our solutions, we are aligning our organization’s goals with the resources and experience of those who have seen the industry evolve over time and understand where the future of railroading is going. We look forward to benefitting from David’s experience and expertise and are very privileged that he has joined our team.”
In related developments, Duos earlier this month named Matt Keepman Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
At Transdev—a rail and streetcar, bus, paratransit, and microtransit operator—Ben Frimpong will serve as Deputy General Counsel, Labor and Employment, based in Lombard, Ill. His prior experience includes work as a corporate attorney and within various companies’ human resources departments. Most recently, he was Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations for Sinai Health System.
“Ben’s extensive employment law, labor relations, compliance and litigation experience working in diverse business environments will bring great value to Transdev,” Transdev General Counsel and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer Randall Lewis said.
In related news, Tim Hort in July became the new Director of Labor Relations for Transdev.
