O’Neil Featured Speaker at NEARS Spring Conference

Paddy O’Neil
Paddy O’Neil, who in 2002 retired from Norfolk Southern as Assistant Vice President Fleet Planning and Optimization, will be a featured speaker at the NEARS (Northeastern Association of Rail Shippers) Spring 2024 Conference, April 24-26, Saratoga Springs.
At NS, O’Neil served in Strategic Planning, Operations Plannings and Equipment Planning roles, managing railcar distribution and serving on multiple committees. Following retirement, he opened Glynn Lane Consulting, serving such clients as The Greenbrier Companies, railcar owners and shippers.
O’Neil graduated from Notre Dame in 1988 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and joined the U.S. Navy as a construction manager. While working in Italy, he met his future wife, the mother of their four daughters, on a train between Naples and Rome. Following his military service, he completed an MBA in 1999 at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, eventually joining Norfolk Southern in 2001. He and his wife have enjoyed watching and coaching their daughters’ basketball, flag football, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and volleyball games.
