Honda honors Road & Rail Services

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. has recognized Louisville, Ky.-based Road & Rail Services, Inc. as 2017 Plant Processor of the Year for performance excellence at its Marysville, Ohio, plant, and has also given the company its 2017 Process Quality Award.

Honda operates 19 major manufacturing facilities in North America, producing a wide range of Honda and Acura automobiles, automobile engines and transmissions, Honda all-terrain vehicles, power equipment products. In presenting the Plant Processor of the Year award, Honda recognized Road & Rail Services for its “Outstanding Processing, Quality and Service,” and cited the company’s “Outstanding Vehicle Handling Process” in presenting its Process Quality Award.

Road & Rail Services Vice President of Customer Service Robert Sadler noted, “It’s truly an honor to be recognized by Honda with these awards, because we invest considerable time and talent in monitoring and continuously improving our process to provide the highest level of service possible. This kind of recognition is only possible through the dedication and hard work of our team of professionals at Marysville and all our sites across the country. They truly put ‘performance in motion’ every day.”

2017 marks the third time in the past four years that Road & Rail has earned Honda’s Plant Processor of the Year award.

Established in 1987, Road & Rail Services is a provider of rail-related services to railroads, rail shippers, and railcar owners. These services include train operations (railcar switching and short line operations), maintenance operations (rolling stock, infrastructure and track assets), and product handling (in areas such as automotive origin plant operations and destination terminal operations, intermodal, and bulk commodities). The company has operations in 18 states within the automotive, aggregate, coal/utility, intermodal, paper, and steel/metals industries.
