Four CSX employees complete a leadership development program run by the National African American Women’s Leadership Institute. Also, a Norfolk Southern (NS) police officer has graduated from the FBI National Academy.

CSX on June 27 celebrated on LinkedIn “the outstanding achievements” of four employees. Business Systems Analyst NaLonda Beckom, Billing Specialist Dia Harris, Manager Human Resources Business Partner Tiffany Stevens, and Sales Manager Stephanie Toliver recently graduated from the National African American Women’s Leadership Institute (NAAWLI).

NAAWLI is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization “dedicated to advancing and developing black women professionals.” Its annual Leadership Development Program—for entry-level to mid-level employees—is built upon eight core tenets of professional development: Leadership, Organizational Culture, Mentorship, Networking, Self-Care, Financial Acumen and Entrepreneurship, Presentation and Branding, and Community Philanthropy. The 2023 program included three three-week-long sessions beginning in February and a community service project; graduation took place earlier this month.

“CSX believes in investing in our employees and supporting their professional growth and development through programs like NAAWLI,” the Class I railroad reported.

NS Police Supervisory Special Agent Jeff Huskey has graduated as a member of the 286th session of the FBI National Academy, NS reported June 27. The graduation ceremony was held June 8 at the National Academy in Quantico, Va.

Participants of the National Academy’s 10-week advanced communication, leadership and fitness training program “must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend,” according to the railroad, which noted that fewer than 1% of officers have the opportunity. The 286th session comprised 238 law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia, plus members of law enforcement agencies from 25 countries, five military organizations, and six federal civilian organizations, NS said.

Huskey is the seventh officer in the NS Police Department’s history to complete the program. Based in St. Louis, Mo., he began his NS police career in 1994 and has served in his current role since 2010.

The NS PD is responsible for crime prevention and criminal investigation involving railroad property or interests, protection of high-value shipments, investigation of suspected fraudulent claims against the railroad, and other special criminal investigations. It supports field offices, special operations response teams, K-9 units, a police communications center, and headquarters in Atlanta, Ga.

“Special Agent Huskey is an exceptional member of the Norfolk Southern Police Department who has served both our customers and our railroad with honor and distinction for nearly 30 years,” said Mark Sinquefield, Director, Police. “His dedication to professionalism serves as an example to the rest of the department.”
