Parsons Transportation Group Director of Rail Operations and CBTC Mike Palmer discusses the technical and contracting elements of the massive Metrolinx GO Transit OnCorr (On-Corridor Works) Project with President and CEO Phil Verster in this video interview aired at the Railway Age/Parsons 2022 Next-Generation Train Control Conference.

OnCorr, a Progressive DBOM (Design Build Operate Maintain) projected to cost more than C$10 billion, is the largest capital infrastructure project in Ontario’s GO Rail Expansion program. The project scope includes all works that facilitate train service, such as track, civil infrastructure, signaling, electrification infrastructure and electric vehicles, as well as the operations and maintenance of the GO Rail network.

GO Rail Expansion will transform the transportation network in the GTHA (Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area) over the next decade. Metrolinx will transform the GO Transit rail network into a system that will deliver two-way, all-day service every 15 minutes over core segments of the GO Rail network. System-wide infrastructure upgrades will include adding tracks, expanding stations, electrification of the rail network, and new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service.

Now in its third decade, Next-Gen Train Control is the global rail industry’s single-most important communications and signaling event. The 2023 NGTC Conference is scheduled for October 26-27 in Philadelphia. Details soon at https://www.railwayage.com/category/conferences/.
