SYSTRA is taking significant actions to further develop RAILSIM®, what it calls “the rail industry’s leading rail operations analysis and simulation software.” These initiatives are designed “to better meet the needs of rail and transit system clients seeking accurate information for operating and design decision making.”

Anthony Lee, AICP, has joined SYSTRA as Planning and Environmental Manager. Lee is a professional certified planner with more than 20 years of experience as a client manager, environmental planning group leader, and project manager.

Rail industry veteran Wes Coates has joined SYSTRA as Vice President, Sector Manager, Planning & Operations Analysis.

SYSTRA has implemented enhancements to its RAILSIM® modeling program for the Advanced Civil Speed Enforcement System (ACSES) Positive Train Control (PTC) system. ACSES is the overlay PTC technology utilized on Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor.

Brandon Swartley, P.E., SYSTRA’s Sector Manager for Traction Power and Chair of IEEE’s (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers) VTS (Vehicular Technology Society) Philadelphia Chapter, last month accepted the IEEE Philadelphia Section’s 2013 Chapter of the Year Award, on behalf of his chapter.

SYSTRA has promoted Joseph Sais, P.E., to Executive Vice President, Engineering. In this capacity, Sais will oversee the firm’s U.S.-based Infrastructure, Traction Power, Systems, and Construction Management and Program Management Sectors. He will be based in New York City.
