CHSRA Earns WTS Employer of the Year Award

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) on May 12 reported receiving the 2023 WTS Recognition Award–Employer of the Year from the international chapter of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) for “exemplary efforts to encourage advancement of women’s careers.”

Report: Global HSR trends could apply to California

According to a new Mineta Transportation Institute report, Modal Shift and High-Speed Rail: A Review of the Current Literature,“evidence from the high speed rail systems of Europe and Asia demonstrates that the mode is very attractive to travelers who otherwise may have chosen airlines or other modes. The results could apply to the new California HSR system.”

A new research report from the Mineta National Transit Research Consortium, “Transit Access and the Agglomeration of New Firms: A Case Study of Portland and Dallas,” examines why new businesses may or may not be established near rail transit stations.
