Jeffrey Rosen has been nominated by President Donald Trump as deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

If confirmed, Rosen would handle day-to-day operations as No. 2 at DOT after Secretary Elaine Chao.

Currently a senior partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, Rosen also served as general counsel and senior policy adviser for the Office of Management and Budget during part of the Bush administration from 2006-09.

Prior to that appointment, Rosen worked as general counsel within Transportation.
