DeLafosse joins Salco

Salco Products, Inc announced on Sept. 1, 2016 that Tom DeLafosse has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering and Technical Consulting services.

DeLafosse joins Salco with more than 35 years of experience in the rail industry, having extensive history with companies such as Union Tank car, Alltranstek and Watco Supply Chain Management.

“We are fortunate to gain an employee of Tom’s caliber” commented Dave Oestermeyer, President. “His industry knowledge and respect, coupled with years of experience in the compliance and regulatory arena, make him the perfect addition to the Salco Team.”

DeLafosse’s responsibilities will include management and mentoring of Salco’s current engineering staff, as well as management and growth of Technical Consulting Services, launched in 2014.

Founded in 1983, Salco Products, Inc. designs, manufactures, assembles and distributes a variety of plastic and metal products used in tank cars, hopper cars and plant process equipment. Industries served include railroad, trucking, chemical manufacturing and distribution, agriculture, food, plastics and minerals. Salco is North America’s largest supplier of 20-inch plastic hatch covers. Corporate headquarters are located in Lemont, Ill.; a Sales and Distribution facility is maintained in Tomball, Tex.
