Santiago Metro has awarded a joint venture of Arrigoni Engineering & Construction, Chile, and Strukton International a $US 49 million contract to construct stations on the new metro Line 3.

Package group 1 and 2 covers the construction of underground stations and ventilation shafts at Los Libertadores, Cardenal Caro, Vivaceta, Conchali, and Plaza Chachabuco on the northern part of the line. The scope of the contract includes civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and utilities works.

Line 3 will link the northern district of Huechuraba with Fernando Castilo Velasco in the east via the city centre. The 18-station line is due to open in June 2018.
