VIA Rail Canada, union reach tentative accord

VIA Rail Canada announced Friday, June 14, 2013, that it has reached an agreement with the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW) union, which represents some 2,200 service, sales office and maintenance personnel.

The tentative accord comes before a looming deadline of 12:01 a.m. Saturday, June 15, set by CAW on June 4, when it gave a strike notice to VIA Rail, as required by law
