UP to host HSR contractor info session

Union Pacific is inviting rail industry suppliers and other interested parties to a High-Speed Rail General Contractor and Sub-Contractor Information Session, scheduled for April 20 at Chicago’s Navy Pier (600 E. Grand Ave.), third floor, Festival Hall A, Room 301, beginning at 4:45 p.m. Central Time. 

up_logo.jpgThe Class I railroad notes that UP and the Illinois Department of Transportation are preparing to upgrade about 215 miles of existing right-of-way from Chicago to St. Louis, as part of the High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail program. UP will host an informational session about available general contractor and subcontractor opportunities, scale of work, qualifications, schedule and timing for contractor bid submissions, for a variety of required services, including paving, pavement marking, grading, track construction, traffic control, structural replacement of bridges and culverts, and erosion control/seeding.
