Savage Names EVP, Chief People and Strategy Officer

NJ Pesci is the new Executive Vice President and Chief People and Strategy Officer at Utah-based Savage, a global provider of engineering and construction, operations and maintenance, rail, trucking, marine, and terminal and transload services.

Most recently, Pesci was President of The Ovid Group, the consultancy he founded in 2017. He has also served as Chief Strategy Officer for KLAS Research; Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI); and leader of the Human Resources team at The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), supporting the company’s largest organizational unit, Global Supply Chain and Labor Relations.

Pesci earned a master’s degree in organizational behavior from Brigham Young University and is a member of the BYU Marriott School of Business’ Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Advisory Board.

In related news, Savage announced its acquisition of the Cascade Warehouse Company in March, and of the Idaho Rail Shop business and property in February. Additionally, the Surface Transportation Board approved Savage Tooele Railroad Company’s proposal to construct and operate an 11-mile rail line in Tooele County, Utah.
