As Senior Assistant Vice President Business Development, Jason Reiling will be responsible for cultivating business from a broad range of railroad stakeholders, which MxV Rail said will help to expand its opportunities to “improve safety, reliability, efficiency and resiliency in the global rail market.” When not on the road with customers, he will split time between the East Coast and the Pueblo, Colo.-headquarters of MxV Rail, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads.

Reiling served for the past 20 years at Strato, Inc., holding various roles, including leading new product development and supporting engineering teams. He was most recently Business Unit Leader for the Air Brake Division. Reiling has regularly presented to technical committees, including ASME, the Air Brake Association, and the Canadian Air Brake Association. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

“I want to develop personal relationships that lead to the resolution of our greatest technical challenges,” Reiling said. “Leveraging the talents and technical expertise that runs deep at MxV Rail, we can build research programs that benefit the industry and encompass all needs of the customer. We have the best engineers and railroading talent, and this is an opportunity to bring my background to help bridge the technical and commercial aspects of railroading.”

In a related development, MxV Rail recently completed construction on a new loop track to support the Facility for Accelerated Service Testing (FAST®) operation

With more than 25 years of transportation and infrastructure program management and program controls experience, Jeff Hall will serve as Project Controls Director in HNTB’s Nashville office, supporting the firm’s clients in Tennessee.

Previously, he was SE Operations Manager at Arcadis. According to HNTB, Hall has held project control leadership roles on more than a dozen municipal and state department of transportation projects, including the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Hampton Roads Express Lanes; California High Speed Rail CP2-3 project; and various projects with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, from general engineer contract roles to construction services. His estimating and project controls experience includes developing independent contractor estimates, value engineering, forensic analysis and cost and production earned value analysis.

Hall is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International and Construction Management Association of America.

“Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge to our firm, having worked on major transportation infrastructure programs across the Southeast,” said Robbie Hayes, HNTB’s Tennessee Group Director. “This experience coupled with his ability to lead multifaceted programs through complex phasing and time constraints will be a valuable addition to our clients’ projects here in Tennessee.”

Separately, HNTB led the H-J-H Final Design Partners joint venture in providing final design services for Sound Transit’s Link 2 line, a 6.6-mile light rail route between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations that opened April 27. This segment of the transit agency’s East Link Extension project consists of eight new stations, a tunnel in Downtown Bellevue, and connections to local transit and the Eastrail regional trail network. Also, Julie Green recently joined the firm as New York Transit and Mobility Group Director.
