• The DynaStack® 53, a three-unit double stack intermodal car with 53-foot wells, the next evolution of the company’s DynaStack® 40 designed in 2008;

• The VersaFlood™, an aggregate hopper car that features lower tare weight and independent automatic doors; and

• A new stainless steel triple hopper car from the company’s family of cars designed to haul a wide range of cargo (including coal, petroleum coke, aggregates, limestone, taconite pellets, ore, and ballast).

• The new cars will be shown at FreightCar America’s outdoor exhibit (#131) at the Canadian Pacific Humboldt Rail Yard.

FreightCar America President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Whalen said, “These new cars are the result of our ongoing leading-edge engineering efforts, and reflect FreightCar America’s commitment to railcar design innovation. During the industry downturn, we continued our research and development efforts, and we remain dedicated to anticipating and exceeding the changing needs of our customers.”
