CSX announced Monday that it’s investing $59 million to expand its intermodal freight terminal at Columbus, Ohio, as part of the National Gateway initiative.

Wilby Whitt, president of CSX Intermodal Terminals, said the Columbus terminal expansion includes a redesign of the site footprint, installation and realignment of tracks, reconfiguration of inbound and outbound truck gates, additional onsite parking, and three high-tech, rail-mounted, electric wide-span cranes.
