Frontier Logistics and Kyle Kinsel announced Monday, July 8, 2013, that construction will begin shortly on a 550 acre facility, the Permian Rail Park, to serve industrial tenants and users of ranging from large distribution and manufacturing centers to small rail users.

Located approximately six miles west of Big Spring, Tex., and 30 miles east of Midland, Tex., the Permian Rail Park lays in the heart of the Wolfcamp and Cline Shale plays in the Permian Basin and within 100 miles of the Delaware Basin’s Bone Springs Shale, Avalon Shale, and Wolfbone play.

The Permian Rail Park will also serve oil field service and oil midstream companies looking to transport products to and from the Permian Basin, the companies said.

With the park’s length and rail accessibility, it is expected to handle multiple unit trains per day as well as providing manifest rail service to various end users and partners within the park. Parcel sales, land leases, and build-to-suit services will be available, all with full rail access.

The developers note the site is located within four miles of 10 major pipelines used to carry petroleum products to and from refineries, making the facility ideal for crude oil storage, blending, or processing.
