KCS upgrading Greenville Subdivision

Kansas City Southern (KCS) announced August 10th that its subsidiary, The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR), is investing approximately $13 million in 2016 on construction and improvement projects on its Greenville Subdivision.

Rail, cross tie and crossing improvements are planned between Leesburg, Texas and Blanchard, La., starting August 23 through September.

Communities that KCSR will work through include Leesburg, Pittsburg, Cason, Daingerfield, Hughes Springs, Avinger, Jefferson, and Karnack, Texas and Blanchard, La.

In total, the project work will include the replacement of 2.5 miles of rail and 64,000 cross ties, as well as improvements to over 80 road crossings.
