CSX Makes CDP Climate ‘A List’

Written by Marybeth Luczak, Executive Editor

CSX has received an A rating for leadership in corporate sustainability from CDP, a global environmental non-profit.

More than 5,800 companies were scored this year on their climate change efforts and disclosures. Scores are based on data reported through CDP’s questionnaire.

For the eighth consecutive year, CSX has achieved leadership status, and this year, it improved to the “A List” rating for its actions to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and help increase corporate transparency, the Class I railroad reported. This ranking, CSX added, placed it in the top 5% of survey respondents globally.

“CSX is proud to be recognized by CDP for our sustainable business practices,” CSX Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Nathan Goldman said. “In addition to contributing to greenhouse gas reductions and addressing climate change, CSX’s commitment to advance environmental sustainability supports our company’s business strategy.”

CN and Canadian Pacific also received top scores from CDP for their climate change efforts and disclosures.
