Union Pacific’s (UP) 4141 Locomotive makes its grand debut. Also, BNSF’s San Bernardino intermodal facility team achieves 500 days injury-free.

UP

UP announced via a LinkedIn post that its 4141 Locomotive, widely known for leading President Bush’s funeral train in 2018 from Houston to his final resting place on the grounds of George H.W. Presidential Center in College Station, has officially made its grand debut at the new Marine One/4141 Locomotive Pavillion.

Now permanently housed in the Pavilion, everyone will have a chance to experience this piece of history firsthand.

The Pavilion’s grand opening is scheduled for June 13 in College Station, as part of the 41@100 celebration for President Bush’s 100th birthday. The event is free, but RSVPs are required. Registration will open soon on 41at100.org/events.

BNSF

BNSF’s San Bernardino intermodal facility team achieved 500 days injury-free in March and is continuing to stack onto that streak day after day, the Class I announced in a LinkedIn post.

According to BNSF, the facility performs more than 2,000 container and trailer lifts daily. Gate transactions of truck drivers entering and exiting the hub exceed 1,700 each day. “To say this hub is a busy place would be an understatement,” the Class I said.

“Congratulations to the San Bernardino team,” Rich Dennison, General Manager of the California Division, said. “We appreciate the safety leadership from the team and our ability to produce safely for our customers every day.”
