C.H. Robinson Names NS 2022 Railroad of the Year

NS has been named C.H. Robinson's 2022 Railroad of the Year for its "teamwork, integrity, transparency and a vision for growth."
Intermodal solutions provider C.H. Robinson has named Norfolk Southern (NS) its 2022 Railroad of the Year, recognizing the Class I at its 26th annual Carrier Appreciation Party for its “teamwork, integrity, transparency and a vision for growth,” NS recently announced.
For nearly two decades, C.H. Robinson has recognized carriers, railroads, vendors and others in the industry at its annual awards, selecting a Railroad of the Year based on “ease of doing business, partnership approach and ability to grow together.”
“C.H. Robinson is proud to recognize NS as our 2022 Railroad of the Year,” said C.H. Robinson Vice President, Intermodal Tim Humbert. “NS has demonstrated a strategic vision to promote intermodal growth while fostering innovative approaches to today’s supply chain challenges. Their entire team acted with a high degree of transparency and integrity while assisting us in servicing the asks of our customers.”
NS’s intermodal network and team are critical to the company’s long-term success and plans for growth, the railroad said. In a look to the future, NS EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Ed Elkins recently shared a comment with CNBC about the importance of the railroad’s intermodal franchise:
“Strategic corridor investments and the opening of a dozen new intermodal facilities since 2014 have created the capacity and productivity to support volume growth on our network. As the global economy becomes even more reliant on the East Coast for supply chain needs, we see great possibility for smart, sustainable growth, and our customer-centric, operations-driven approach is going to help us deliver for our customers and the marketplace.”
Additional winners include 29 Transport (Carrier of the Year), Pacella Trucking, Mountain Intermodal Inc., Shamrock Express, TAK Logistics Inc., Continuum Transportation Services Ltd., Sunrise trucking Inc., Day-N-Nite, Phoenix (So Cal Carriers), Singh Trucklines and Sunrise.
