Notice to interested parties:  The MBTA has released a Due Diligence #28-24 for the Fairmount Line Battery EMU Service Pilot.

Written by Administrator

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) announces its intent to Accept a Best Value Offer to contract for the services described within the posting with Keolis Commuter Services pending results of the Notice of Intent (“Notice”).

The MBTA has received a Best Value Offer through its Innovation Proposal program to deliver 20-minute frequency decarbonized service on the Fairmount Line.  The proposed approach is to procure and operate a fleet of battery-electric multiple units (BEMUs) and supporting infrastructure and facilities which will be sufficient to operate 20-minute headways on weekdays and 30-minute headways on weekends.

Responses are requested by April 12th 2024 by 12:00PM EST.

If, after the posting deadline has passed, interest is generated by the Notice, the MBTA will review all Responses and will determine whether they will: (i) withdraw the notice and not accept the Offeror’s offer (and cancel the Notice of Intent) or (ii) accept the offer from the Offeror or (iii) accept an offer from another vendor offering a comparable or better value than the Offeror in their Response or (iv) accept the offer from the Offeror and from any other offerors offering similar value in their response.

You can access the Due Diligence #28-24 at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts bid platform; www.commbuys.com – there is a not cost for suppliers, though registration is required.
