Union Pacific made history on Jan. 6, 2024, when we became the first Class I railroad to modernize the “big three” core operating platforms: Positive Train Control (PTC), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CADx) and Transportation Management (NetControl).
The transportation industry has come a long way in the past few decades, and with the recent large leap forward in technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), the industry is on the brink of a major transformation. We are at an inflection point where the investments in AI are set to revolutionize most aspects of humanity and certainly our transportation industry.
This past November marked my second anniversary at Union Pacific, and what an amazing time it has been! The call to “Build America” that first drew me here continues to inspire me every day. I remain in awe of the dedicated and talented people who work at Union Pacific, and the wealth of knowledge we collectively represent. Together, we have made great strides in leading the way to a future that is tech-enabled and rests on the shoulders of some of the best and brightest tech talent.
