Terry to Lead ARRC External Affairs

Christy Terry, Director of External Affairs, Alaska Railroad

The Alaska Railroad (ARRC) has elevated Christy Terry to Director of External Affairs.

A 12-year ARRC veteran, Terry served most recently as Seward Port Manager. Through summer 2022, she will help facilitate a smooth port management transition by supporting operations at the ARRC Seward Terminal Reserve as needed, according to the railroad, whose mainline stretches 470 miles from Seward to Fairbanks. 

Prior to ARRC, Terry spent nearly a decade working for the city of Seward, culminating her tenure as Community Development Director. She currently serves as Seward’s mayor; her three-year term expires this year.

As head of the ARRC External Affairs Department, Terry will develop and execute public, community and government relations efforts, as well as ensure informative employee communications. She will also work to maintain ARRC’s reputation as a civic supporter, and a partner in economic development statewide.
