The Sulphur Institute announced that Jack Cohn, Senior Vice President and Industry Unit Leader at Savage Services Corp., has assumed responsibilities as Chairman of the Washington-based trade organization.

Cohn succeeds Mike Lumley, former Vice President of Shell Sulphur Solutions.

“We appreciate Mike’s leadership and direction he provided the Institute while serving as Vice Chairman and Chairman over the last 18 months,” said “Rob McBride, President and Chief Executive of The Sulphur Institute. “We welcome Jack who is no stranger to TSI; the staff looks forward to working with him as Chairman of the Board.”

Cohn previously served as TSI’s Chairman of the Board from 2012-13. TSI represents all stakeholders actively engaged in producing, buying, selling, handling, transporting, or adding value to sulphur and sulphuric acid. Savage Services provides supply chain management for a variety of industries.

The group said Cohn will continue to spearhead many initiatives already underway at TSI including plans to demonstrate its value to members in not only North America, but also further developing its interests for European members and expanding into Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
