RATP Dev North America, the North American subsidiary of global transportation provider RATP Dev, has appointment Josée Danis as Vice President of Business Development in Canada. She will be leading the firm’s Canadian offices, based in Montreal, Quebec.

Danis will be responsible for increasing RATP Dev’s presence in Canada and represent the company in Canada’s numerous consortiums and transit organizations. Shewill be directing the full range of business development activities for RATP Dev North America’s Canadian expansion, including participation in market sounding activities; meeting with local transit, city and provincial government officials; representing RATP Dev at industry conferences; meeting with potential private and public partners; and managing transit operation and maintenance bids and proposals. RATP Dev is currently the lead operator on two light rail P3 proposals, Hurontario and Hamilton, submitted with Cintra, Acciona, Ferrovial and Colas Rail.

Danis comes to RATP Dev with nearly 20 years of experience in finance and the rail industry. Beginning her career at CN, Danis held various positions in finance, accounting and rail operations. Prior to CN, she served as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development for Genesee & Wyoming Canada, Inc., leading commercial agreement negotiations.

“Josée has an exceptional track record within the transportation industry,” said RATP Dev North America CEO Catherine Chardon. “She has proven to be a successful leader with a strong financial background and reputation for building relationships with partners, and managing and securing contracts. RATP Dev recognizes Canadian officials and authorities as world leaders in building and operating new transit infrastructure, and we know that Josée’s vast experience and expertise will prove to be an invaluable asset in helping the company succeed in this competitive market.”

“I am honored to help expand RATP Dev’s world-class service to my home country of Canada, and build on the great groundwork that has already been laid here,” said Danis. “I look forward to building teaming relationships and serving transit authorities across the country. RATP Dev recognizes that Canada is on the cutting-edge of transit growth.”

RATP Dev, founded in 2002, operates in 15 countries on four continents (United Kingdom, France, Italy, Switzerland, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, China, South Korea, the Philippines and the U.S). The company employs more than 16,000, transports more than 1.5 billion passengers annually, and operates a wide range of services including intercity rail, regional express rail, light rail, streetcars, tour bus, buses and sightseeing shuttles.
