Wabtec preps for InnoTrans 2014

Wilmerding, Pa.-based Wabtec Corp. said Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 it and its subsidiaries will exhibit in Stand No. 103. Hall 1.2, at InnoTrans 2014 in Berlin, Germany, being held Sept. 23-26.

“Companies like Becorit, Mors Smitt, CoFren, LH Group, Poli, MZT, Brush Traction, MotivePower, Vapor Europe, Bach Simpson, and Young Touchstone are all part of the Wabtec Group and through its subsidiaries the company manufactures a range of products for locomotives, freight cars, passenger transit vehicles and track side/signalling applications,” the company said in a statement. “The company also builds new switcher and commuter locomotives, and provides aftermarket services.

Wabtec said it would focus on several railway market sectors, including: Brake & Friction; doors; current collecting; electronics & control; locomotives; cooling; and service, overhaul and retrofit.

Wabtec also noted its “latest innovations on display at Innotrans” include: Integrated bogie brake (weight saving) and friction parts; door systems with optimized weight saving & sound/thermal insulation; rooftop & third rail energy measuring (for billing) and current collecting; on board & track side electrical control & signalling solutions; locomotives, new built & retrofit; and engine, transmission, cooler & power group overhaul.
