Jacksonville, Fla.-based United Rail, which represents international rail technology suppliers and provides consulting services to offshore companies interested in the North American railroad market, has entered into a joint venture with Switzerland-based Ganser CRS, a supplier of common-rail fuel injection systems for off-road diesel engines.

“We are seeing an increase in interest in European rail technology from the North American railroads,” said Norwin Voegeli, President and CEO of United Rail. “In North America, transportation systems—especially rail transportation—has a strong need for technologies that will help reduce their environmental impact and that can help reduce operating costs through fuel efficiency. Ganser CRS has the system that will help our rail operators in these areas, and we are excited about the future with this great European company.”

“Over the past 35 years, I have seen tremendous growth and development of common-rail fuel system technology,” said Dr. Marco Ganser, CEO and President of Ganser CRS. “We have been able to help many customers around the world improve their diesel engine systems using common-rail technology. We are very excited to be working with United Rail to strengthen our position in the North American rail market, where we feel that our systems can bring a very substantial benefit to the railroads, passenger and freight alike.”
