STV Names VP, Engineering Chief-Transportation Northeast

Snehal Shah, STV
Snehal Shah has joined STV as Vice President and Engineering Chief within the Transportation Northeast Group.
He will not only help drive project delivery but also contribute to the expansion of the Northeast region’s transportation practice, according to New York City-based STV, an infrastructure-focused professional services firm providing engineering, architectural, planning, environmental, program management, and construction management services for transportation systems, buildings, water, energy, and other facilities.
Shah served most recently as Deputy Chief Engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), orchestrating the daily activities of six concurrent multi-billion-dollar “super mega” projects, STV reported Feb. 5. These included the Hunts Point Access improvements and Van Wyck Expressway projects, in which he helped optimize construction sequencing to ensure minimal disruption to the critical access routes to John F. Kennedy International Airport and the Hunts Point Food Distribution Market.
Shah is a graduate of the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat, India, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He has published reports on the study of flexible pavement design variables for urban and rural roads, as well as the design of prestressed concrete ties for railroads.
