Regional Rail, LLC says it has acquired a construction and demolition debris (C&D) rail-served transfer station in Conshohocken, Pa.

Formerly known as Conshohocken Rail, the new company, Conshohocken Recycling & Rail Transfer, LLC (CRRT) is a high throughput transfer station with dual inbound and outbound truck scales, as well as a 25,000 square-foot transfer building, and is located on a 12-acre site.

The design and operation of this facility provides CCRT customers with the fastest possible turn times for trucks delivering to the facility. CRRT also owns and operates a fleet of 81 recently refurbished high capacity gondola cars for transporting the unrecyclable portion of the C&D waste stream from the greater Philadelphia area to rail served landfills.

Said Regional Rail, LLC President Bob Parker, “This acquisition illustrates Regional Rail, LLC’s intent to look at rail related entities and operations in addition to the traditional short line deals.” The acquisition took effect June 1.

Kennett Square, Pa.-based Regional Rail LLC is a transportation holding company, and is the parent company of East Penn Railroad LLC (ESPN), Middletown & New Jersey Railroad, LLC (MNJ), and Tyburn Railroad, LLC (TYBR).
