Simpsonville, Ky.-based TCR Rail Systems has been sold to Rail Investments, LLC, according to RR Mergers & Acquisitions, which facilitated the transaction.

With a 98,000-square-foot manufacturing and warehousing facility, TCR Rail Systems provides turnkey signaling and communications systems to Class I, short line and transit customers throughout North America. Its work includes engineering development, designing, manufacturing, integrating, installing, and servicing products and systems.

Chris Ramey and Tom Ramey will remain as President and Chief Operating Officer, respectively, and together with the Rail Investments leadership team “will help drive the company’s next phase of growth,” according to RR Mergers & Acquisitions, which has specialized in the sale of rail industry suppliers and services companies for more than two decades.

Rail Investments principal Rick Turner will serve as TCR Rail Systems’ CEO, and principals Bill Kiefer (former CEO of A. Stucki Co.), Mike Powers (General Counsel), and Rich Regan (former CSX executive) will serve on TCR Rail Systems’ Board of Directors.

Rail Investments’ portfolio also includes Superior Sales & Service, an Omaha, Neb.-based custom manufacturer of maintenance-of-way equipment.

In a related development, RR Mergers & Acquisitions was recently an advisor to the sale of Alberta, Canada-based BMS Locomotive Service Group to Genesee & Wyoming Canada Inc.
