NCRR Launches Flagging and Safety Services

The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) has launched a new service that provides flagging, safety and protection services on its 317-mile rail corridor. These services allow for qualified Roadway Worker-in-Charge (RWIC) and flaggers to ensure safety and coordination during construction, repair and maintenance projects. NCRR says the workers are “experienced Class I and II railroad industry veterans, trained to offer competitive and readily available services.”
NCRR Safety & Compliance Senior Manager John Gass leads the program. With more than three decades of experience at Class I railroads, Gass “is well-versed in railroad operations, safety, maintenance and management,” NCRR noted. “His expertise is particularly valuable in ensuring NCRR’s safety and compliance standards are implemented and followed effectively. These new services are a significant milestone in the company’s 175-year history, as they leverage the company’s rail expertise to deliver best-in-class solutions for capital, development and maintenance-of-way projects.”
