RailComm upgrades BNSF Chicago yard
Written by Douglas John BowenFairport, N.Y.-based RailComm said Monday it has upgraded its existing yard system at BNSF Corwith’s mechanical facility in Chicago.
RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) System is used to remotely control derails. The DOC® System includes a workstation that allows the user to monitor device status and review operation logs of all system activity.
The workstation displays a graphical representation of the yard area, and the user is able to view all the devices in the field. The system includes a PD Loop Counter Detection system for train detection, the company said.
