In cooperation with the Commuter Rail Coalition, Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell LLP is pleased to present the 2023 Passenger Rail Law Workshop. This year’s workshop will be held at the Madison in Washington, DC, on November 6 & 7, 2023.
Attendees will learn from experts the fundamental legal principles that underlie virtually all elements of passenger rail. This workshop is the only conference that combines a thorough review of the basics of passenger rail law with an update on recent legal developments. Conducted in an interactive classroom format, participants can expect instructors to include government attorneys from DOT and FRA, as well as seasoned practitioners with decades of experience and in-depth understanding of the federal laws, regulations, and policies that govern rail.
CLE credits will be pre-approved for select states and all attendees will receive a copy of the Passenger Rail Law Desk Reference, a comprehensive, user-friendly resource book that you can expect to be a well-used reference tool.

REGISTRATION FEES
Inclusive of refreshment breaks, reception, and meals noted above
- $650 for CRC members, early registration
- $750 for CRC members after Oct 6
- $575 for speakers
- $800 for non-CRC members
The deadline to register for this event is October 31. There will be no on-site registration available.
Change of plans? There is no fee to transfer a registration up until Oct 31. If you must cancel a registration, we will charge a $50 administration fee if you notify us before Oct 6; 50% to cancel after Oct 6, up through Oct 27. No refunds can be processed after Oct 27.

TRAVEL INFORMATION
The following transportation centers are listed in the order of proximity to the Madison.
- Washington DC Metrorail Stations: The closest station to the hotel is McPherson Square (Silver/Orange/Blue lines) and the Farragut North Station (Red line)
- Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is 6 miles and a 15-20 minute, one-way drive to the hotel depending on traffic. There is no airport shuttle. MetroRail’s Blue line will deliver you from DCA to McPherson Square Station.
- Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) is 27 miles and a 45-60 minute one-way drive to the hotel depending on traffic. There is no airport shuttle available. MetroRail’s Silver Line will deliver you from IAD to McPherson Square Station.
- Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) is 37 miles and a 60-70 minute one way drive to the hotel depending on traffic. There is no airport shuttle available.
PARKING
The hotel has no parking of its own but public lots are plentiful.
CLE ACCREDITATION
It Is the responsibility of each participant to file the appropriate paperwork with your state bar(s) for continuing legal education for this course.
CLE accreditation is granted on a state-by-state basis. Each state has its own rules and regulations that define eligible course content for CLE credit. Due to varying state bar approval procedures, we cannot foresee for how many credits the workshop will be approved.
Registrants may request accreditation from specific states after the workshop has taken place by usually providing course materials. If you have questions or require additional documents to complete your state filing, please contact or Shelby Kaiser with Kaplan Kirsch & Rockwell.
