Invensys lauded for PATH restoration efforts

Foye praised the work performed by Invensys Rail Corp. to restore PATH bistate rapid transit service, hard hit by Hurricane Sandy.
PATH service still operates at suboptimal levels between New York and New Jersey more than two months after Hurricane Sandy battered the 13-stop system, flooding and damaging significant portions of infrastructure.
On Tuesday, the House of Representatives passed a hurricane relief funding package which specifically included money for PATH’s restoration.
Foye, speaking before the subcommittee last month, lauded Invensys’ efforts to restore PATH service, which allowed some limited service to resume one week after the storm’s landfall Oct. 29, 2012.
In response to Foye’s comments at the subcommittee hearing, Invensys Rail President John Paljug said, “Invensys Rail management and employees have always gone to great lengths to support our customers as they work to recover from major operating disruptions such as Hurricane Sandy. We appreciate Mr. Foye’s recognition of our efforts to help PATH and PATH’s customers in New York and New Jersey.”
Invensys helped overcome flood damage that required the design, assembly, and wiring of three complete PATH signal control rooms. By reallocating and greatly expanding engineering and manufacturing hours and expediting in-coming material supplies, Invensys Rail completed the three signal control centers in three and one-half weeks.
