Siemens names Michael Peter CEO of Mobility Management Business Unit

Michael Peter, 49, has been appointed CEO of Siemens’ Mobility Management Business Unit, effective Oct. 1, 2015. Most recently, Peter was head of the Mainline Rail Automation Business Segment in Braunschweig. He will replace Jürgen Brandes, who will be heading the Process Industries and Drives Division in Erlangen. In his new capacity Peter will report to Jochen Eickholt, CEO of Siemens Mobility Division.

Michael Peter can look back on many years of experience at Siemens. After completing his university studies in electrical engineering at Braunschweig and Madrid, he joined the company as an automotive technology engineer in 1992. From 1996 to 2000, Peter worked for Siemens in the USA. As a project director there, he promoted numerous municipal rail projects. He then took up a position as Segment Head of Intelligent Traffic Systems in Munich. In 2005, he was based in Bangkok as head of the former Industrial Solutions and Services Group for Asia. From 2010, he took charge of the Mainline Rail Automation Business Segment in Braunschweig.
