Stadler US on April 22 announced that Lauren Cochran has been named as Head of Sales and Business Development for North America.

Cochran brings 15 years of experience in the North American transit industry, with expertise in transit operations and vehicle electrification, the company announced via LinkedIn. She will lead all commercial aspects of Stadler’s business to support its expansion in the North American market.

Previously, Cochran served as Vice President, North American Sales at Proterra Inc. She also served as Director of Innovation at the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) and as Director of Contract Operated Sciences. From 2013 to 2015, Cochran served as Assistant Research Scientist at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI).

Cochran began her career as Senior Operations Analyst at Foothill Transit, moving up the ranks to Sustainability Manager and then to Director of Maintenance and Vehicle Technology— the youngest and first female to hold the position in the agency’s history. In that role, she was responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the second largest fixed route transit fleet in Los Angeles County; and managing vehicle and onboard technology procurement and deployments, including CNG and electric vehicles.

Cochran holds an MPA in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a BA in Political Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

“Stadler has demonstrated unmatched commitment to its customers through quality, safety, and investment in cutting-edge technology including hydrogen and battery trains,” Cochran stated in a LinkedIn post. “I’m looking forward to this new ride. Let’s roll!”
