East Chicago Rail Terminal, East Chicago Transload, Oak Management Join Forces

East Chicago (Ind.) Rail Terminal LLC and sister company East Chicago Transload LLC have teamed with Portage, Ind.-based trucking firm Oak Management LLC to provide multi-modal transportation and logistics services.
The partnership will offer customers a “comprehensive suite of transportation solutions that optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce transit times and decrease overall transportation costs,” the companies reported Aug. 15.
With nearly 90 years of flatbed trucking experience, Oak Management has a network of four trucking carriers and a diverse fleet. East Chicago Rail Terminal has direct interchanges with all Class I railroads (BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, CN and Canadian Pacific Kansas City) as well as Indiana Harbor Belt and Iowa Interstate Railroad. It is also in close proximity to IN-912, I-65, I-94, I-90, I-80 and US-12/US-20.
“By combining Oak Management’s expertise in flatbed trucking with East Chicago Rail Terminal (ERRT)/East Chicago Transload’s (ECT) exceptional rail and transload capabilities and location, we confidently offer seamless, environmentally friendly and cost-effective supply chain solutions,” ERRT/ECT General Manager Alex Engelke said.
